  • Applicable in high temperature and high-pressure environments over 1,600 degrees... Real-time big data analysis of steelmaking and steelmaking
  • Production efficiency ↑ - cost ↓... 'DX' of traditional manufacturing

EXCELLO (CEO Park Seong-Jae), a company specializing in DX (Digital Transformation) solutions in the industry, succeeded in developing and commercializing the world's first solution capable of extracting real-time status data and analyzing big data of equipment used in high-temperature and high-pressure environments over 1,600 degrees Celsius. EXCELLO explained that the solution can be applied to the iron and steel industry as well. EXCELLO is a company that won the Industry 4.0 category in the incubating challenge program of Paul Wurth, Europe's No. 1 design engineering company in 2016. The company has an exclusive supply contract with SAB, a global blower pipe (high-temperature hot air pipe) supplier. Moreover, EXCELLO provides data solutions to Korean steel companies with equipment like blast furnaces, runners, tuyere stocks, ladles, etc.

In particular, EXCELLO's newly developed IRS (Intelligent Real-time System) solution extracts data through direct measurement inside the high-temperature facility. Through this, the IRS solution provides information necessary for facility maintenance through big data analysis (edge computing) in the form of a monthly subscription service.

In addition, the IRS solution has improved data reliability, which is pointed out as a limitation of the existing external measurement method.

In the case of steel mills, the performance of refractory materials leads to production efficiency and production cost. In fact, in 2017, a domestic P steel company tried to improve the components of refractory bricks inside the Torpedo Ladle Car (TLC), and there is a case of extending the durability (service life) of TLC only by improving some components.

The EXCELLO solution provides big data-based analysis data such as thickness, thermal conductivity, and energy loss rate that indicate the performance of refractory materials. We present a predictive model that tells us how much fossil fuel should be used.

Through this, in the case of steel mills, it is possible to efficiently use the energy cost of hundreds of billions of dollars invested to increase the temperature of molten metal.

EXCELLO explained that it is not an easy task to apply big data and artificial intelligence (AI) technologies, which were only considered exclusive to high-tech companies, to traditional manufacturing fields in extreme environments. To this end, EXCELLO has spared no expense in intensive technology development over the past five years. As a result, this made it possible to provide a high-temperature and high-pressure facility monitoring solution service to global steelmakers.

EXCELLO explained that the IRS solution, both inside and outside the industry, is gaining a reputation for two strengths. One is to improve production efficiency by minimizing energy loss, and the other is to achieve ESG that helps reduce carbon emissions. EXCELLO emphasized that its solution is the most realistic alternative to catching two rabbits and is excellent in responding to the Corporate Punishment Act for Serious Accidents.

CEO Park Seong-Jae of EXCELLO said, “Through the EXCELLO solution, workers do not have to go to the site directly through reliable data extraction, analysis, and utilization, and accurate condition monitoring of equipment, such as how much energy loss occurs in which equipment, is Because it is possible, the safety of workers, cost reduction and production efficiency of the company can be dramatically improved.”

Meanwhile, EXCELLO is negotiating solution applications with overseas global companies based on active service references in various industries such as domestic steel/steel, incinerators, cement, and carbon black.
